A Recipe for the Goodlife 10 Day Challenge
Granola Girl Bars makes 15 bars
This is not a low calorie/low fat bar but a good energy bar when hiking or camping. This was developed from a bar we had in a cafe in Amherst Mass. We use the almond pulp leftover from making almond milk for the almond meal you can also buy it in many stores.
3 Cups of Rolled Oats
½ cup oat bran
½ cup hemp hearts
1 cup of almond meal
½ cup sunflower seeds
½ cup flax meal
½ cup sesame seeds
½ cup whole wheat flour
1 Tablespoon of vanilla
¾ cup raisins
2 cups of maple syrup
Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl till uniform in texture.
Add vanilla and maple syrup and stir till all of it is coated and no dry bits remain. ( if still a bit dry add a bit more maple syrup or a bit of water)
Press down firmly into a 9X9 pan.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes till browned around the edges.
Let cool and cut into 3 rows of 5 bars each.
Feel free to add or subtract to this. Cranberries instead of raisins, dried cherries, chopped nuts. Make it your own with what you like.

We would like to thank the Sherriff's department and all the volunteers from the VPR CAC and PTSA who helped make this event run so smoothly. Look for us handing out more Bike Safety packets on June 4th at the VHT 30th anniversary.
